Sara and James' Elevated, Vintage-Inspired Wedding Day In Downtown Denver

Getting Ready And First Look At Thompson Hotel

Nestled in Denver's historic LoDo neighborhood, Thompson Hotel is a luxurious boutique accommodation and event space in the heart of the Mile High City. The hotel's interior design elegantly portrays a modern twist on the rich culture of the American West, with rooms and suites featuring sweeping views of the Rocky Mountains. Thompson Hotel also offers guests lush amenities such as a state-of-the-art gym, room service, dedicated concierge assistance, and a variety of unique dining experiences.

Sara and James' began their wedding day by staying and getting ready at Thompson Hotel. Both opting for modern wedding attire with vintage flair, the couple looked effortlessly stylish and timeless on their special day. Sara wore a button-back, floor-length wedding gown paired with silver earrings and a pair of silver metallic leather pumps in the style Felicity by Bernardo. James wore a taupe corduroy suit, a lilac velvet tie, and brown oxford shoes. After getting ready, the couple shared a first look in one of the hotel's bars before taking some relaxed pre-ceremony wedding portraits.

Outdoor Vow Ceremony At Cheeseman Park

Later in the afternoon, we headed to Cheesman Park, where the couple celebrated their vow ceremony at the Pavillion. It was a beautiful blue sky day in October, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect! The couple exchanged wedding bands, Sara's gold, and James's silver, before saying I Do, and taking portraits with family around the park! I really loved Sara's bridal bouquet! Made by a friend, the vintage-inspired floral arrangement was full of delicate greenery, peach roses, and bold burgundy flowers, all tied off with a burgundy velvet ribbon.

Lively, Vintage-Inspired Wedding Reception At ESP Hifi

After Sara and James' breathtaking outdoor ceremony at Cheesman Park, we drove to ESP Hifi, a unique listening bar in Denver. Sara changed into a stunning two-piece, baby blue vest suit and accessorized the piece with a white headband. Hosting their reception at ESP Hifi elevated and tied all the couple's vintage touches from their wedding day together. The space was FULL of vinyl records and featured exposed brick walls and retro furniture. James and Sara enjoyed pizza and drinks with guests, signed their marriage license, and cut their two-tier wedding cake. Guests took photos using a Polaroid camera and played their favorite records before sending the newlyweds to their next chapter of life together.

Tips For Planning A Downtown Denver Wedding

1. How do I choose the right venue for my Denver wedding?

Denver offers a variety of unique and stunning venues for weddings, both indoor and outdoor. Begin by considering the style and size of your wedding. Decide whether you'd prefer a historic building, rooftop, or outdoor venue for your ceremony. If you can, visit the venue in person before booking to get a feel for the space. This will ensure your chosen venue aligns with your vision for your special day.

2. How do I choose the right time of year for my Denver wedding?

Denver experiences all four seasons. So, be sure to consider the time of year when planning your wedding date and picking your venue. Summer and Fall in Denver offer beautiful weather and scenery, perfect for evening celebrations at outdoor venues. Winter weddings in downtown Denver can be cozy and romantic, often offering the possibility of snow. Consider an indoor venue with mountain views and an optional heated outdoor bar with firepits. Weather can be unpredictable in Denver during the Spring, so opting for an indoor location with an optional outdoor space is suggested.

3. How do I organize transportation and lodging for my Denver wedding?

Downtown Denver can get quite crowded, especially during weekends and special events. If your wedding venue is a hotel, staying there can simplify transportation and lodging for you and your guests. For event venues or outdoor locations, look for nearby lodging that's only a short walk or drive away. If your celebration involves multiple locations, keep travel and parking time in mind. Opting for a venue with ample parking can enhance the experience of your wedding day for you and your guests.
